This morning visit the most beautiful mosques. Al Noor Mosque, with a dreamy setting overlooking Khalid Lagoon and the first to welcome non-Muslim visitors. Designed in classic Ottoman style, Al Noor cascade of domes and two soaring minarets dominate the skyline of Sharjah. The interior is just as spectacular, with calligraphic inscriptions from the Holy Qur’an and intricately decorated domes, arches and pillars. Later, enjoy the visual beauty of 500 species of Butterflies at the Butterfly House. A haven for more than 500 jewel-colored creatures, the Butterfly House is one of Sharjah’s most striking structures. A veil of perforated steel glows in the sunlight and is spectacularly lit at night, creating an ever changing show of light and shadow inside the temperature-controlled space. You can spend the evening visiting the nearby Al-Majaz Waterfront, either on foot or by taxi. This popular waterfront district has plenty of family-friendly activities, including mini-golf and Dhow Boat Cruises and the star attraction “Sharjah Fountain” with its spectacular sound and light show every 30 minutes from 6:30pm.
