Alice Springs - the third largest town in the Northern Territory of Australia

Alice Springs, located in the geographic center of Australia, is the third-largest town in the Northern Territory of Australia. Original inhabitants of the area, the Arrernte, call it Mparntwe. The area is home to a significant number of Aboriginal peoples and is sometimes referred to as the “Aboriginal Art Capital of Central Australia” due to the many Aboriginal art galleries present within the town. Although it is not a large city, Alice Springs hosts several famous festivals and sporting events throughout the year. Aboriginal cultural events and exhibitions are complemented by unique desert-lifestyle-inspired events such as the Alice Desert Festival Camel Cup, the Henley-on-Todd Regatta, Beanie Festival, and the grueling but popular Finke Desert Race.
