Day by day
Day01Arrival in Narita
Arrival at Narita International Airport and transfer to the hotel (check-in 15:00); the rest of the day is free. For late arrivals a packed dinner is arranged.
Day02Narita – Tokyo
Tokyo: Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Dori, the Tokyo Skytree at 350m, a drive past the Imperial Palace, Shibuya Crossing, the Rainbow Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, and the digital art of teamLab Planets.
Day03Tokyo – Nikko – Tokyo
Nikko: the UNESCO-listed Toshogu Shrine and the Kegon Waterfall in Nikko National Park.
Day04Tokyo – Hakone – Mt. Fuji – Nagoya
Hakone: the Lake Ashi pirate cruise, the Hakone Ropeway over Owakudani, and Mt. Fuji 5th Station (subject to weather and road conditions); then the Shinkansen bullet train to Nagoya.
Day05Nagoya – Hiroshima
The SCMAGLEV & Railway Park and the Toyota Commemorative Museum, then the Shinkansen to Hiroshima.
Day06Hiroshima – Miyajima – Osaka
Ferry to Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine with its floating torii; the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Peace Memorial Museum and the Peace Memorial Park; the Shinkansen to Osaka.
Day07Kyoto – Nara
Kyoto’s Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion); Nara Deer Park and Todai-ji Temple.
Day08Osaka
Osaka Castle, the Umeda Sky Building, the Shinsaibashi Shopping Street and Dotonbori; then to Kansai for the final overnight stay.
Day09Departure from Kansai
Transfer to Kansai International Airport for the flight home.
